Wyatt is my grandson. Before he was born I and my friend Carole Robitaille covered one wall of his room with a fantasy mural of African and Asian animals in a never-never land of ambiguous space. The tiger is down in the right-hand bottom corner of the wall.
Dulse is seaweed, rich in iodine and very salty. It can be used as a condiment or a health food and is harvested widely in the Maritimes. This scene was painted in Grand Manan, a large island in the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick.
This image is based on an autumn woods, where the darkness of autumn is closing in on summer's brightness. Falling leaves are suggested.
This was my birthday arrangement one year. I especially like the Bird of Paradise lily. I like flowers that dare to make a statement.
In Grey County, just at the base of the Bruce Peninsula, this apple farm snuggles in among the foothills of the Blue Mountains. It is lovely country, full of apples and grazing cattle. I loved painting this picture, which, like most of my landscapes, was done en plein air.
